How blocking works
In this help doc
See how context-aware blocking reads, understands, and decides ⚡
Most blockers match URLs against a list. Microsome is different: it understands what a page actually is and decides whether it fits your focus — before the page ever loads.
Context-aware, not just a blocklist
Microsome evaluates the content of a page, not only its address. That means it works on pages a list would never catch, and it won't block something just because it shares a domain with a distraction.
Evaluated before a page loads
Analysis runs in well under a second — as little as 130ms on the hyper-specified model — so a distracting page is stopped before it renders. There's no flash of the thing you were trying to avoid.
Works on any page
Because the decision is based on content, Microsome works anywhere on the internet, including pages it has never seen before.
Tuned to your goals
Your goals shape the decision. The same page can be focus for one person and a distraction for another — Microsome decides for you, specifically.
